Over the years, Julia Tyrrell has gained a reputation for representing and developing the careers of writers with an independent vision and original voice. The list is an eclectic mix of playwrights, feature film writers and writer/directors - and television writers, many of whom work across several media.

Julia Tyrrell started her professional life at Noel Gay Organisation, in a dual role assisting literary agent Pauline Asper and as production secretary for Noel Gay Theatre. Her previous career as a dancer stood her in good stead as the two departments were separated by four floors and there was no lift. After leaving Hamilton Asper, where she spent 10 years building her list, she joined MacFarlane Chard Associates before setting up her own agency in July 2005.
