Tess won the Lloyds Bank/Channel Four Film Challenge for her short film BEER GOGGLES broadcast on Channel 4 (1999) and directed by David Mackenzie. She has written for HOLLYOAKS and MY FAMILY and her original comedy drama GRANNY AND ANNIE was optioned by DLT Productions. She has also worked extensively as a script editor with SEINFELD writer Tom Leopold, and as a script reader for the UKFC Premiere Fund.
With writing partner Sophie Hetherington Tess has original sitcom FRATERNITY in development with Jack Cheshire at the BBC Comedy Unit. With writing partner David Allison, she has feature film CHARLIE FERRARI in development with Jeva Films.
As well as writing, Tess also works as a co-producer with both Cassandra Sigsgaard and Richard Holmes respectively. Current projects include RISE OF THE APPLIANCES by Rob Sprackling and John Smith and THE BAILEY METHOD by Neth Knowles. She is also attached to the feature film version of the award winning novel RESISTANCE, written by Owen Sheers.
In 2008 Tess was chosen for the BFI/Skillset Think Shoot Distribute Scheme for emerging talent in the British Film Industry. She teaches comedy seminars on the MA in Screenwriting at Royal Holloway University, and sometimes she can be heard reviewing TV shows on the Mayo Show on Five Live. Last, but by no means least, she is an excellent maker of tea.
