Paul has a keen interest in exploring stories about identity and sexuality and using genre to do this in unexpected ways.

He wrote episodes 3 & 5 of the critically acclaimed adaptation of Paris Lee’s memoir WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL (Hera Pictures/BBC) and served as Associate Producer across the series. NME said the show was ‘Heartfelt, hedonistic, and utterly brilliant!’ and The Guardian called it “Totally Fearless TV” and remarked on a moment from one of Paul’s episodes that “You’ll never look at a toilet brush the same way again!” He’s currently developing a project for the “A VERY ENGLISH SCANDAL” series with Blueprint Pictures and the BBC.

Paul’s political thriller LANDSLIDE is in development with Firebird Pictures and the BBC. Other projects currently in development include crime drama PSYCHOS (Firebird),spy thriller RETIRED (Esmerelda), horror rom-com LAST OF THE SINGLETONS (Brock Media) and neo-noir BYE FELICIA (Buccaneer Scotland). Other credits include an episode of HOPE STREET (Longstory/BBC/Brit Box) and 27 episodes of DOCTORS (BBC).

Paul is a graduate of 4Screenwriting and previous to this was a winner of the BBC Writersroom ‘Heartlands’ initiative for writers from the Midlands. He has an MA in TV Scriptwriting with distinction from DeMontfort University Leicester.
